CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
UPDATE: Residents of the affected areas in East Brainerd report that water service has been restored as of about 7:30am Thursday morning.
Tennessee American Water reminded customers that there may be some discoloration and/or sediment in the water. Opening the cold water faucets for high-volume valves, such as the bathtub, will help clear your home's lines faster.
PREVIOUS STORY: Tennessee American Water will interrupt water service to some residents of East Brainerd Wednesday night, May 11 to complete work as part of the East Brainerd Road widening project.
A voicemail delivered late Tuesday afternoon to customers outlined the timing of the service interruption, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00pm Wednesday night and should be concluded about 6:00am Thursday morning.
The affected areas are south from East Brainerd Road to the TN/GA state line, heading east of Shady Rest Road and south of Morin Road, along Morris Hill Road.
Crews will be shutting off water in the affected area to tie water lines to the new water main.
Nearby customers may experience discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure, according to Tennessee American Water.
