ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a documentary star has been arrested after he barricaded himself in an Atlanta church during a funeral for his grandfather.

Atlanta Police Department spokesman Lukasz Sajdak tells local news media that Curtis Ward was apprehended without incident during a funeral service for his 94-year-old grandfather at the Higher Ground Empowerment Center on Saturday. Sajdak says Ward played as Curtis Snow in the 2011 dramatic film "Snow on tha Bluff."

Sajdak says Ward was distraught and barricaded himself inside the church bathroom. The standoff lasted about three hours.

Pastor Dexter Johnson tells WSB-TV that Ward was visibly upset. Johnson says Ward got into an argument with someone at the funeral, resulting into police being called.

Streets around the church were temporarily closed while police were involved in the standoff.
