Dalton police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at a Waffle House early Friday morning.

The robber used a gun to hold up the restaurant cashier and escaped with a small quantity of cash.

The robbery happened at approximately 3:10am Friday at the Waffle House on West Walnut Avenue.

The suspect, a black male, entered the restaurant through the front door as a cashier was washing dishes in preparation for the morning breakfast rush.

Police say the suspect was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black hat and a red bandanna covering his face.

A black North Face jacket was over the hoodie.

The suspect used a silver handgun, which he pointed at the cashier as he demanded money. The cashier gave the suspect all of the bills in the cash till. The suspect also demanded money from a locked drawer which the cashier could not unlock. The suspect then ran back out of the front door and got into the passenger seat of a white or silver four-door vehicle.

A witness told police that the driver of the vehicle was possibly a black male and that there could have been two white females in the car.

Anyone with information is asked to please contact Detective Jacob Burger at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 325.
