ROSSVILLE, GA (WRCB) -

Police in Rossville are searching for who caused $15,000 worth in damages at a local park.

Police say it happened Wednesday night at City Park on Ellis Road.

"They had busted all of this off and it was laying back behind it. The Coca Cola Company's repaired these," Park President Carthell Rogers said.

But the vandals didn't stop at one of the park's concession stands, they also hit up the park's bathrooms and the nearby Battlefield Raceway.

Owner Dion Potter says his track alone will need $3,000 in repairs.

"We did have surveillance cameras down here and all of that stuff was stolen and taken away," he said.

But with races and tournaments scheduled for this weekend, the community didn't waste any time coming together to get the park up and running.

"The city maintenance stepped up and brought in all of their men and helped us and we have four or five volunteers come by and clean it all up and haul it off," Rogers said.

"I've been telling everybody, you might break our stuff, but you won't break our love and our will for racing these remote control cars," Potter added.

If you have any idea who vandalized the park, call please call or text Detective Dave Scroggins at (423) 802-7049 or Rossville Police at 706-886-1227.
