UPDATE: The search for missing nine-year-old Carlie Trent enters the fifth day, with reward amounts increasing but very little in the way of substantial leads.

On Monday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is holding a news conference on the active Amber Alert.

Police have a large presence in Rogersville near the family's home, but no confirmed sighting of Gary Simpson, the child's uncle, or young Carlie.

TBI spokesperson Josh DeVine addressed the media Monday morning in Bristol and will hold a Knoxville news conference at 11:15 a.m.

Authorities said Simpson, who is Trent's uncle, took her out from school on Wednesday on false pretenses.

"Our primary concern is getting this child home safe," DeVine said Monday morning.

Simpson does not have custody of Trent, but previously did.

U.S. Marshals are offering a $2,500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Gary Simpson in connection with the Amber Alert issued for 9-year-old Carlie Trent.

On Saturday, Carlie Trent's pediatrician, Dr. Chris Calendine, informed TBI that he will offer $10,000 for information to the safe recovery of the child. Calendine said he was saving the money up for a boat, but indicated he would rather see the money used to further the effort to bring Carlie home.

The Amber Alert was issued Thursday for Carlie. Police believe she was taken out of school by 57-year-old Gary Simpson.

Simpson is the girl's uncle under what the TBI calls "false pretenses" and has no custodial rights.

TBI agents are pursuing credible leads, including digital evidence, to find Carlie and her uncle.

The ongoing investigative efforts have been successful in piecing together some relevant information.

Friday, surveillance video was released showing Simpson shopping at the Rogersville Walmart on Wednesday, shortly before picking up Carlie at her school.

Agents they may not be in public view and may be located in a campground, state park, or other isolated area.

Carlie is 4’8″ tall, weighs 75 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and grey tank top and blue jeans.

Simpson is a 57-year-old white male, 5’10” tall, weighing 157 lbs. He is balding and has brown hair and eyes.  He was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark-colored shirt and jeans.

He was last seen driving a white 2002 Dodge Conversion Van with TN registration 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards and paint is chipping off of the hood.

Warrants have been issued for Simpson for Kidnapping.

Anyone with information on Carlie or Simpson's whereabouts is asked to call the Rogersville Police Department at 423-272-7555 or TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
