Tennessee Republicans in Congress began falling in line behind Donald Trump on Wednesday, now that the New York real-estate mogul has effectively clinched the GOP presidential nomination.

"It looks like the presumptive nominee of the party is going to be Donald Trump, and I think Republicans need to unify and get behind the Republican nominee," said U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann of Ooltewah.

Fleischmann, who initially backed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, had declined to endorse another candidate after Huckabee dropped out of the race. That changed after Trump decisively won Indiana's primary on Tuesday and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz ended his campaign.
