MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Memphis says 14 of its journalism students will travel to Rio De Janeiro to cover the Summer Olympics.

The university said in a statement Thursday that Roxane Coche, assistant professor in the Department of Journalism and Strategic Media, will be supervising the program. The games open Aug. 5.

The group will be housed in an Olympic Media Village. They will be assigned a sport, which they will cover for the Olympic News Service, which acts as a newswire service for the Olympics.

Memphis says it is one of only two universities - along with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - to have an agreement with the Olympic Organizing Committee to take students there as interns.
