Mayor Berke to hold State of the City on Monday

Posted: Updated:

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke invites the local community to attend the third annual State of the City on Monday.

He joined Eyewitness News Reporter Michelle Heron on Eyewitness News Today to discuss what the community can expect during his speech, including the recent violence in the Scenic City.

Berke will address the city's accomplishments over the past year, as well as look ahead towards goals for the future.

At last year's State of the City, Mayor Berke recognized the past year's achievements and announced several new initiatives including the Mayor's Council for Women, Baby University, affordable internet access for low-income families, and a community compact with UTC to address safety and sexual assault on campus.

The State of the City is free and open to everyone. The State of the City will also be available via live video stream and via EPB on FiTV Channel 302. Join the discussion on social media using #CHASOTC.

This year's State of the City will be held at the Chattanoogan Hotel at 5:30 p.m.
