PINEHURST, N.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf team is in fourth-place after 18 holes at the Southern Conference Championships. Kory Webb’s 1-under 71 paced the squad’s 292 (+4) at Pinehurst No. 9.

The 71 matches Webb’s season-low 18. It’s the fifth time he’s turned in that score. He made the turn at +1 but birdies at 10, 12 and 14 holes got him to -2. A bogey on the par 3 17th provided the final tally of -1.

Lake Johnson turned in even-par 72. He bounced back from a tough double bogey on the par 5 4th with birdies on seven and eight before draining a 15-foot eagle effort on 10.

Wes Gosselin (74) and Brooks Thomas (75) rounded out the team score. Andrew Weathers was one higher with the drop score of 76.

ETSU is the leader at 1-under 287. Furman is in second at 290, while Wofford shot 291. The Mocs are three clear of UNCG in fifth at 295. The Terriers’ Jeremy Grab is the individual leader with a -4 68. Webb is tied for fifth, while Johnson is tied for seventh.

The Mocs return to the tee at 9:30 a.m.
