Wheat and Wright Win the 4th Annual 2016 Fishing with a Soldier Bass Tournament

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The team of Billy Wheat and Veteran Dusty Wright from Dayton, TN caught a 5 bass limit weighting 25.63 lbs. to win the 4th Annual 2016 Fish with a Soldier Bass Tournament. 

This event was held Saturday, April 23, 2016 out of Chester Frost Park on Lake Chickamauga. 

Billy said “The bite was a little slow so we just kept fishing heavy cover and got five good fish.”

Wheat and Veteran Wright also had big bass of the event weighing 8.24 pounds good for $400.

This event was founded 4 years ago by Veteran Brian Phillips and just gets bigger every year.   Tournament Director Chase Estep said “this year we have over $6,000 in prizes and over $2,000 to give a way to the anglers and military veterans in this event. I would like to give a special thanks to all sponsors that made this event possible.”

Anglers in this event came from several states including the well-known Bass Militia and FLW Pro Michael Neal from Dayton, TN. 

The top 5 prize winners are as follows:
1.Wheat and Veteran Dusty Wright, 25.63 lbs. $2,400 and 2 Pelican Coolers donated by FLW Pro Angler Zack Birge 
2.Nathan Attaway and Veteran, 25.22 lbs. 
3.A.J. Barnes and Veteran, 24.56 lbs. 
4.Michael Neal and Veteran, 19.26 lbs.
5.Tom Brindle and Veteran, 19.12 lbs.
