Curbside pickup coming to Food City supermarkets

Posted: Updated:

Food City, which recently entered the grocery store market in the Tennessee Valley, is introducing curbside pickup of your groceries.

The new program, called GoCart, is designed to allow customers to shop online, and arrange a convenient time for the curbside pickup.

The order is filled by a professional shopper and loaded into the customer's vehicle when they arrive at the store. The purchase is finalized by credit or debit card payment without ever leaving the vehicle.

Food City charges a $4.99 service fee regardless of the order size.

“At Food City, we’re always looking for ways to bring added value and convenience to our shoppers,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.  “Our new GoCart program is literally changing grocery shopping as we know it.”
