UPDATE: Chattanooga police have arrested a suspect in the tenth recent shooting in the city.

Averoyan Sandbridge, 27 has been charged with:

  • Attempted 1st Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Domestic Aggravated Assault (two counts)
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment warrants

Police say the victim, 22-year-old Diaz Darden, was transported to a local hospital for examination and treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting on the 2500 block of E 3rd Street at just before midnight, late Tuesday evening.

A male victim has a gunshot wound. The injuries are not life-threatening. 

The victim was in the backyard of a house when he heard gunshots. As he went back into the house, he realized he had been hit in the hand.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A suspect has been detained by police in connection with this shooting. This investigation is ongoing.
