Johnnea King tearfully describes the last moment she saw her boyfriend alive.

"I had on my backpack, was fixing to walk to the car. I said, I love you and he said, I love you too and I'll see you later," she said.

The 16-year-old was at school when she learned Ladarious Bush was killed in a drive-by shooting.

King's parents gave Channel 3 permission to speak with their daughter about Bush and how he will be remembered.

"I just couldn't believe it," she said, "I just wanted to know what happened."

The 17-year-old was playing video games inside King's parent's home, where he lived, on 7th Avenue Monday when police say a car full of rival gang members opened fire.

Bush is the city's 11th homicide this year.

King described Bush as a good listener with a big heart.

The two had recently learned they were going to be parents to a baby boy.

"He was so happy, he couldn't believe it," she said.

King said Bush was excited to provide for his growing family and was looking forward to the birth of their son.

But now, the baby will grow up without knowing his father.

"When I deliver my baby, he's not going to be there to help me or hold my hand," she said tearfully, "I'll never get to wake up and see his face anymore and give him a kiss or any of that."

A stark reality of gang violence and it's consequences.

Chattanooga police are still searching for who pulled the trigger.
