Chattanooga Police are investigating a third shooting in less than 24 hours in Chattanooga. CPD officers responded to the 2100 block of E 27th Street on a report of a shooting. Police located a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand.
The man was walking his dog on E 27th Street when he was struck by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as being in a light blue or silver Chevy Impala.
Chattanooga Police announced Saturday, that they are increasing patrols and resources throughout the weekend due to a threat of continued retaliatory and targeted gang violence likely stemming from the April 10th homicide of gang member, Robert Jackson III, who was killed leaving Sky Zoo night club. CPD said multiple shots fired calls have been reported on Saturday including during Jackson's funeral.
