ORLANDO, FL (WESH) - An Orlando woman is facing charges alleging she punched her daughter’s cheerleading coach in the face during a recent practice.

Orlando police said Stephane Waddle showed up at Timber Creek High School in mid-January upset because her daughter had been suspended from a competition.

According to the arrest report, Waddle started shouting at the coach about her daughter’s anxiety. She then left the gym but returned 15 minutes later and punched the coach, the report said.

"What I can tell you today is that my client never punched anyone in the face," said Thomas Feiter, Waddle's attorney.

Waddle hired an attorney who wasted no time defending his client.

"Parents behaving badly situation? I don't think that was the case here at all. It was a disagreement that may have gotten out of hand," Feiter said.

Students seemed to be confused by it all.

"I feel like that is too extreme. As adults, you should be more responsible. Not act childish, because this is a school for safe learning," said student Shawn Nguyen.

Waddle was booked into the Orange County Jail Tuesday and is charged with battery on a school employee and disturbing a school assembly. She has since bonded out.
