DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says after an investigation and following up on leads from a February 25th possible home invasion and murder in the Kilpatrick community on Road 997, Santos M. Ambrocio, 33, of Kilpatrick was arrested Wednesday for the murder of his wife Francisia R. Prez.

Police says Santos had been the DeKalb County Jail since February 25th, the date of the murder for Possession of Forged Instrument and obstructing justice.

Since that time DeKalb County Investigators assisted by Fort Payne Police Department, FBI, and DA’s Office continued to gather evidence which led to the arrest of Santos for the charge of murder.

Sheriff Harris says DeKalb County is still working to find out if others were involved that may have helped Santos hide or destroy evidence. If you have information regarding this crime call the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office at 256-854-3801.

Santos is being held in DeKalb County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
