Longtime Hamilton Co. principal Ed Foster to be in TSSAA Hall of Fame
Nine new members will be inducted into the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Hall of Fame.
Nine new members will be inducted into the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Hall of Fame at the annual luncheon at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro on Saturday. Ed Foster, longtime coach and principal at East Ridge and Ooltewah High Schools is among them.
Three administrators, three coaches, two officials, and one contributor will be inducted Saturday to join others in the annual gathering of those selected since the process began in 1982.
Those being inducted at this year’s luncheon are: B. O. (Bo) Booth, administrator from Dyer; L. E. (Lee) Clayborne, administrator from Columbia; Ed Foster, administrator from Ooltewah; Clint Satterfield, coach from Hartsville; the late Ken Netherland, coach from Memphis; Jill Prudden, coach from Oak Ridge; Henry Phillips, official from Lawrenceburg; Joel Pierce, official from Elizabethton; and Allen Richardson, contributor from Murfreesboro.
The Hall of Fame luncheon will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9. The luncheon is to not only honor the new inductees and their families, but to honor all past inductees into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.
Foster served as a Principal for nearly 25 years at East Ridge High School and Ooltewah High School; served on the TSSAA Legislative Council from 1995-2009, and was President for five years and Vice-President for six; has served as the Executive Director of the Tennessee Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) since 2009.
