Kokoszka and Holland Win April Gen 2.7.3. Series Bass Tournament

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The Gen 2.7.3. Series Southern Division held the second event of its six tournament season Sunday, April 3rd 2016 out of Chester Frost Park on Chickamauga Lake.

The team of Logan Kokoszka and Kalyb Holland caught a five-bass limit weighing 27.12 lbs. to take win from 47 anglers.

The duo also took over-all big-fish honors with a giant largemouth bass weighing 9.48 pounds which earned them an extra $240.

Logan said,” We started our day fishing shallow and had a small limit fairly quick. We decided to move out and try some staging areas were some bigger fish were hopefully pulling up onto later in the day. That proofed to be the right decision and we were able to better our overall weight. We caught fish on variety of baits but the shaky head and lizard were the dominant two baits for us."

Rounding out the remaining 5 places:
1st - Logan Kokoszka & Kalyb Holland - 27.12 lbs. - $650 + $240 Big Fish
2nd - Josh Wofford & Bruce Wofford - 23.42 lbs. - $400
3rd - Matt Jenkins & Steve Norris - 19.45 lbs. - $250
4th - Jerry Webb & Oscar Torbett - 18.00 lbs. - $150
5th - Derek McCullough & Chase McCullough - 17.43 lbs.

Tournament organizer Jake Debin says, “Special thanks to Island Cove Outdoor Center and all our sponsors.
