A Chattanooga man is facing attempted first-degree murder charges after allegedly attacking two men with a claw hammer.
Police arrested 53-year-old George Brown on Friday and charged him with aggravated assault, vandalism, aggravated burglary and attempted first degree murder.
According to court records obtained by Channel 3, police were called to a home on Dunn lane to investigate an aggravated assault.
When police arrived they found two victims who told officers Brown hit them with a claw hammer while they were working on remodeling a home. Both men were hit in the head. One of the victims was bleeding “profusely” and had to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The two victims told officers they were working in the home at 1902 Dunn Lane when Brown entered and attacked them unprovoked, accusing them of breaking into his home down the street. Brown is also accused of knocking out a window.
Brown is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He’s due in court on April 7.
