UPDATE: US-27 ramp re-opened after overturned tractor trailer crash
Emergency crews are working the scene of an overturned tractor trailer on US-27 at the Signal Mountain Rd. exit.
UPDATE: The southbound US-27 on ramp at Signal Mountain Blvd. has been re-opened to traffic following a crash that overturned a tractor trailer carrying concrete Monday morning.
Traffic may continue to be heavy in the area. Motorist should consider an alternate route if possible.

The southbound US-27 entrance ramp is closed. No word yet on when it will reopen.
Officials say the truck was full of concrete and had just picked up a fresh load, when it overturned.
Police say speed may have been a factor in the crash.
A number of tow trucks and emergency vehicles are on scene to move concrete and debris from the area.
The crash also knocked down a pole in the area, and EPB is working to restore downed power lines.
The driver is in the hospital, and the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.
