CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Hickory Valley Christian School choir performed at Elmcroft Senior Living Center in Chattanooga. Their show was in honor of 98-year-old Lewis Alligood, who founded the school in 1980.

The show was the choir's final performance before a spring break trip to Orlando, where they are performing at Disney's Epcot center.

According to a 2004 article in Chattanoogan.com, Mr. Alligood said, "There was a committee (at Hickory Valley Christian Church) appointed to start the school every year by the chairman of the church board. They’d always come back and say ‘We don’t have the money."

25 years after he and other visionaries at the church first conceived of the idea, it is today a competitive K-8 private school.
