"Best" restaurant gets failing score
Inspectors continue to find restaurants that earn very high scores, but this week there was an exception.
The good news continues for a lot of restaurants and school cafeterias being inspected this week in Hamilton County. All of the scores are still fairly high.
I do have one failing grade to pass along to you on this holiday weekend. Remember, any score lower than a 70 fails, and this restaurant has ten days to correct all critical violations.
Best China Restaurant on Ringgold Road needs to pay a little more attention in the kitchen to be able to call themselves best.
The inspector found raw, hazardous foods stored above ready to eat foods, the dishwasher was not dispensing sanitizer, the person in charge did not demonstrate adequate food safety knowledge and cooked food that is held more than 24 hours did not have a date marked on the package. Best China scores a 67.
Remember, if you have a complaint about a pool, restaurant, health care facility, day care or even the place where you workout call the Hamilton County Health Department Hot Line at 423-209-8110. Someone will personally handle your complaint weekdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your meal!
