The struggle was real for the Mocs at the NCAA tournament. The men's basketball team is now back on Chattanooga soil after the first round. The Mocs struggled to keep up with the Indiana Hoosiers' offense Thursday night and lost 99-to-74. But the 25 point difference has not stopped UTC fans from supporting the blue and gold.
When the UTC Mocs returned to Chattanooga, the men's basketball team walked off the plane at Wilson Airport ready to return to campus. The upset Mocs fans hoped for what didn't happened. The team fell 99 to 74 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
“The best team we played all year. Top to bottom-bar none. We played some good ones. Not a knock on anyone, but the job Tom Crean did with that team, there is a reason they won the Big 10,” said Matt McCall.

Students at UTC say they couldn't be prouder of their Mocs.
“I am really proud of our guys, going out there and played hard. Working hard all season,” says Montel Lavelante.
Montel Lavelanet watched as the team worked all season preparing for their big moment on the hardwood.
“Them in the gym every day, constantly improving," he says. "I am really proud of them and already looking forward to next year.”
The senior says seeing his school playing on national television is something he will remember for years.
“It is always awesome to watch your school be out there playing on the big field, big stage. It is something different.”
As the season comes to an end students across campus want the team to know they are proud.
“Upsetting for us and the team. They got to hold their heads high. It was a great season, a team that set records and wins. It was a disappointing outcome but not a disappointing season,” says grad student Drew Fry.
