Good Friday! We should have a pretty nice afternoon. It will be a bit cooler than yesterday as the high gets to 71. Skies will be cloudy through the afternoon and into tonight. Saturday will be cloudy with a few on and off showers popping up. We will be much cooler Saturday afternoon with a high of only 60 degrees.
Sunday marks the first day of spring, but we will welcome the season with some blustery weather. Sunday will start out with temps in the mid 30s. Highs will climb to only 54 with mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. A passing shower is possible Sunday afternoon, but not likely.
We will stay cold starting off next week. Monday we start the day in the upper 20s and low 30s. We can expect some areas of frost Monday morning. Monday afternoon we will get up to about 58. We may have another frosty start to the day Tuesday as the low in Chattanooga gets down to 34.[If we can make it past Tuesday morning we will see the warmer weather making a nice comeback. Tuesday afternoon we will shoot back up to 67 with mostly sunny skies. Wednesday will be even nicer with a high of 71.
Regarding the potential for frost and freezing temps to start the week, the average date of the last frost is April 14th and the average date of the last freeze is April 1st so this isn't too out of the ordinary, just a bit inconvenient.
