Mayor Megan Barry addressed concerns over a proposed west Nashville residential development, but not without some opposition.

Protesters gathered while Barry spoke to the Bellevue-Harpeth Chamber of Commerce.

The Stephens Valley project will include 1,400 homes.

Those opposing the plan said this will create traffic problems on several streets, including Highway 100 and Hillsboro Road.

Others said they are excited about the development and the commercial properties that will generate tax dollars.

The development will fall on the county lines of Williamson and Davidson counties.
