North Georgia man charged with killing ex-girlfriend's dog

A North Georgia man is facing charges for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend’s dog.

Nathan Van Brock, 36, was already in jail on charges of entering an auto, simple assault and financial transaction card fraud when he was charged with animal cruelty.

Van Brock is accused of making threats and taking her ex-girlfriend’s credit cards from a vehicle parked outside her home.

According to police reports, Van Brock’s ex-girlfriend called police earlier in the day to report blood in the car she allowed Van Brock to borrow. She told officers she noticed drops of blood on the driver’s side door jam and on the floor by the driver’s seat. She said it also looked like the driver’s side of the vehicle had been wiped down. She told the officer she asked Van Brock about it and he said he cut his hand.

A few days later police determined the blood in the car was connected to a dog found in a bag on the side of Frontage Road. The dog, which belonged to Van Brock’s ex-girlfriend, had been mutilated.
