The UTC Mocs will be traveling to Des Moines, Iowa to take on the Indiana Hoosiers Thursday, March 17th for the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament.
Fans, students, and the Mocs were all anxiously awaiting their post-season destiny during the Mocs' Selection Show Watch Party in the University Center Auditorium late Sunday afternoon.
It wasn't until after both the South and West Regions were announced that the Mocs were recorded as a No. 12 seed in the East Region.
The Mocs earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Southern Conference Tournament last Monday.
The Indiana Hoosiers, a No. five seed, went 25-7 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten Conference before losing to Michigan in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.
The last time the Mocs were in the NCAA Tournament was 2009 in Philadelphia. It is the 11th bid in 39 years as a Division I program, 16th overall. The five Division II bids included the 1977 NCAA National Champions.
The winner of the Mocs-Hoosiers matchup will go on to play the winner of No. four seeded Kentucky, and No. 13 seeded Stony Brook Saturday.
