CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Reports of a suspicious person walking around with a gun on East 12th Street Wednesday afternoon ended with an arrest and seizure of some high-powered ammunition.

Chattanooga Police say they found 22-year-old Marcus Brooks Jr. in the 1600 block, wreaking of pot.

Police say he admitted to having marijuana in his pockets.

That prompted a search of his vehicle, where a SKS Assault Rifle, loaded with a 30-round magazine, and a backpack with a fully-loaded Tech 9 gun were found.

Brooks was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana for Resale and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Police say his arrest isn't connected to any events that happened Wednesday.

Brooks is due in court March 23.
