Former EMA Chief Bill Tittle Passes Away

The former leader of Hamilton County’s Emergency Management Agency died Wednesday after a battle with cancer.

“Former Chief Bill Tittle lost his battle today from cancer,” Amy Maxwell, spokesperson for the agency, told Channel 3. “He was a true inspiration to Hamilton County Emergency Services and worked tireless hours and days to make sure the citizens of Hamilton County were safe! He will be deeply missed!” 

Tittle, 80 years-old, lead the agency for more than a decade before retiring in 2013.

Arrangements are being handled by the Chattanooga Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held March 12 at 2:00 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church
