Good Monday. Spring-like weather will be settling in this week. The average high this time of year is in the low 60s. We will be at least 10 degrees above that through most of the week.
The basic set up for our weather this week involves a ridge of high pressure over the eastern U.S. For us, that high will do 2 things. First, it will deliver southerly winds that will warm temps into the 70s each afternoon. Second, it will act as a shield, blocking any weather systems from moving through for at least the first half of the week.
Today look for mostly cloudy skies, and the warm up will begin with a high of 68 this afternoon.
Tuesday will be even warmer. We will start the day in the mid to upper 40s and climb to about 74 in the afternoon.
Wednesday and Thursday will see highs in the mid-70s and lows in the 50s. The high will begin to shift east a bit toward the end of the week, and that will allow for more clouds and maybe even a shower or two Thursday and Friday.
As an area of low pressure moves through Friday night into Saturday the rain chance will increase. I would expect on and off showers and thunderstorms through the day Saturday, but it will stay warm with a high of 72. We may see a few showers lingering into Sunday, but Sunday afternoon it will clear out and stay mild in the low 70s.
