A wave of school threats continues in the Chattanooga area, East Hamilton High School received a second threat in as many days.
A email sent by principal Gail Chuy to East Hamilton High School parents said a threatening message was written on a bathroom wall at the school Thursday morning. Principal Chuy said the threat was directed at her personally and not the school. She continued to say law enforcement is investigating the message.
Principal Chuy also made parents aware of a photo circulating around the school and told parents that law enforcement confirmed the photo is a hoax. Chuy also said they identified the source of the picture and the student was removed from the school under investigation by authorities.
The fake photo was edited to show a student aiming a rifle at other students in the school. The student is wearing ear protection much like what you would find at a shooting range. The student was cropped from an original photo and inserted into a photo containing East Hamilton students walking around the hallways of the school.
Chuy ended the email by saying law enforcement and the administration at East Hamilton will be available during parent conference Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the theater to hear concerns parents may have.
