UPDATE: Suspect arrested for Sunday morning stabbing

UPDATE: 26-year-old Ferris Witcher is in custody. He's set to appear in court on January 12.


Chattanooga Police responded to the 5000 block of Hancock Rd. on an unknown trouble call. When officers arrived on scene they located a single victim suffering multiple stab wounds. 

The victim, Nathan Pearson, 53, gave the suspect, Ferris Witcher, 26, a ride home from the KFC on Hwy 58. Witcher demanded money from Pearson once they reached their destination on Hancock Rd. A struggle ensued when Pearson did not give Witcher money. 
Witcher stabbed the Pearson multiple times in the face, neck, and chest. Pearson got out of his car, fled the area and called police. Witcher left the area in Pearson's vehicle.
Pearson was treated on scene by Hamilton County EMS and then transported to a local hospital for further treatment. 
Warrants have been issued for Ferris Witcher for:

  • Attempted 1st Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Aggravated Robbery
  • Theft
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment 

Police are still looking for Witcher who left the area driving a 2006 Chevy pickup truck. TN# F29-02X.
