A New Year's Eve shooting sent one person to the hospital Thursday night.
Chattanooga police say it happened near the 2700 block 6th Avenue about 10:25pm. They were told that the victim lefty the scene in a black Chevy Malibu.
When police arrived, they were able to find the alleged shooter, 22 year-old Antouan Knox.
East Ridge police found the black Chevy Malibu near the 3100 block of Ringgold Road and said the vehicle had been involved in a crash at that location.
A passenger of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound.
CPD officers arrived at the hospital and positively identified the person shot as Arterius Bond, 23. Bond was receiving treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right side of his body.
Investigators are speaking with all parties involved to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin confirmed the suspected gunman is in custody and several others were wounded.
