Good Thursday. As we close the door on 2015, we also close the door on the rainy weather which dominated the month of December. We saw more than 10" of rain this month, double the average. Much of that fell with the record rainfall on Christmas Day. We end 2015 with a rain surplus of 14.45" above average.
Now we focus on the cool air. As the front that brought the rain continues to move east, we will see skies clearing with a high of 53 this afternoon. MUCH cooler air will filter in tonight as the low drops to 33 in Chattanooga.Friday will stay cool all day with partly cloudy skies and a high of only 49.
For the weekend, we will stay chilly with highs near 50, and lows near 30. Sunshine will dominate the skies all weekend.
Next week will be dry for at least the first half, but we will gradually warm backup to near 60 by Wednesday. I also expect clouds mid week with our next chance for rain showers by Thursday or Friday.
