KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Diamond DeShields had 30 points Wednesday as No. 13 Tennessee ended its scoring slump with a 90-56 victory over Stetson.
The Lady Volunteers (9-3) had averaged just 52.3 points over their last four games and hadn't exceeded 58 points in any of them. Tennessee reached 59 points with over four minutes left in the third quarter Wednesday and never trailed.
Te'a Cooper scored 13 points,  Jaime Nared had 12 and Mercedes Russell added 11 as Tennessee shot 53 percent from the floor in its final game before opening Southeastern Conference competition.
The Lady Vols posted their highest point total since a season-opening 102-47 blowout of Central Arkansas. Although Tennessee went just 5 of 21 on 3-pointers, the Lady Vols made two-thirds of their shots from inside the arc.
Brianti Saunders scored 15 points and Myka Johnson-Matthews added 12 for Stetson (8-5).
