SOUTH PITTSBURG, TN (WRCB) -

The heavy rains that hit the Tennessee Valley caused a Marion County road to fall apart.

Police say weather is to blame for the sizable split along a portion of South Pittsburg Mountain Road at First Street.

TDOT is working to repair the road and set up a mobile traffic camera.

According to TDOT, both east and westbound traffic will be delayed.

Work is expected to be completed by January 4.
