Minor flooding issues in Tenn. after deadly storms

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee emergency officials are monitoring minor flooding around the state as residents recover from severe storms earlier this week that caused six deaths.

Heavy rains on Friday caused flooding in several counties, but the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency says there were no new injuries or significant outages on Saturday afternoon.

Bledsoe, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn and Meigs counties remained under flood warnings Saturday.

Officials are still assessing damage from the deadly storms that struck earlier in the week. There were four confirmed tornadoes, including two in Wayne County, that touched down and caused damage during the storms.

Three people in Maury County, two in Perry County and one person in Rhea County died in the storms and tornadoes.
