Warm, wet, stormy weather continues through Christmas

Posted: Updated:
Flood Watch continues across all of north Georgia until 7 p.m. Friday.
Severe weather threat diminishes today, but storms are still likely to develop in spots through Friday evening.
As a cold front stalls near us, showers and storms continue Thursday. Most of them will occur south and east of Chattanooga. Highs reach the lower 70s.
Showers and scattered storms are expected across the entire region overnight and Christmas Day. Strong storms are possible with lows around 60°, near record highs on Christmas in the lower/mid-70s (record is 75° in 1955; normal is 50°).
The weekend looks decent! The front pushes north Saturday, nearly taking away any chance for rain/storms. Highs top out in the unusually warm mid-70s. The front sags southward Sunday bringing back some scattered showers with highs in the lower 70s.

Rain continues from time to time the first few days of next week. Highs cool to the 60s Monday, then into the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday.
