"The Tennessee Highway Patrol wants everyone to safely make it to their friends and family's gatherings this Christmas," said Lt. John Harmon.

Harmon encourages everyone to be patient and drive to their capabilities in the wet weather. He advises slower drivers to stay in the far right lane and says the four most important things this week are to:

  • Buckle up
  • Watch following distance for sudden stops with high traffic volume
  • Don't drink and drive
  • Don't drive distracted, especially in this high volume traffic
