UPDATE: Catoosa Co. man dies after being shot by sister in domestic dispute, witnesses tell sheriff

UPDATE: According to Sheriff Gary Sisk, On Sunday around 5:20 P.M., officers responded to a residence located at 1095 Twin Cedars Road, Chickamauga, Catoosa County, Georgia. 

Upon arrival, Deputies located Jack Saunders,at the residence suffering from injuries inflicted by Jackie Saunders,53, his son. Jackie entered the residence and began physically assaulting his father, Jack. Witnesses say, after being told numerous times to stop by the mother and daughter, the daughter, Cynthia, retrieved a weapon from within the residence and shot her brother Jackie. 

911 was called and EMS units responded and transported Jack to Parkridge East Hospital and Jackie was transported to Erlanger Medical Center where he later passed away from his injury. Jack was later released from the hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. ?

PREVIOUS STORY: Catoosa County police are investigating a shooting Sunday evening. 

Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk tells Channel 3 that one person was shot at 1095 Twin Cedars Road, the shooting is believed to be domestic related. 

The victim seemed alert when they were transported to a local hospital.
