#PaulSaid Are you electrified when hit by lightning

Posted: Updated:

When someone gets hit by lightning are they still electrified?

People who are struck by lightning are no longer electrified unless they’re resting on a live power line or their fingers are jammed in an electrical outlet.

It is possible to rescue a flatlined lightning strike victim by performing CPR (all chest compressions) until trained responders arrive, but for some inexplicable reason, some people refuse to touch folks struck by lightning for fear of getting zapped themselves.  That is one of the reasons why everyone should learn CPR.  m

If a lightning storm approaches go in doors or in a car, but never ever stand under a tree!

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.
