CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Jordan Smith is the winner of The Voice season nine!

It was no surprise the Lee University student won the competition Tuesday night, after making Voice history by consistently topping the charts on iTunes.

The soft-spoken Lee University student displayed his powerful vocal range and landed a recording contract with Republic Records as part of his prize for the win.

With each passing week in the competition, Smith grew in his quiet confidence and kept raising the bar with increasingly powerful performances.

Smith's Voice coach, Marron 5 frontman Adam Levine said "I think you're the most important person that's ever been on this show."

All of Smith's final three performance shot to the top of iTunes and at one point, took spots one, three, and five.

In addition to those performances, Smith performance of "Somebody To Love" by Queen last week rose to number 10, putting Jordan in four of the top 10 spot on iTunes.
