HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested one person after a report of shots fired.

Deputies were called to the 2500 block of Cummings Highway shortly before 11am on reports of shots fired.

Matt Lea, spokesperson for the department, tells Channel 3, 24-year-old Randy Williams was arrested and charged with several felonies.

Williams told deputies that several people vandalized his girlfriend's car with a lug wrench. He said he fired his gun in the air when he was aggressively approached by a woman.

Williams declined a request by deputies to search his car when they smelled marijuana coming from it.  K-9's were called to the scene and after searching Williams' car, deputies found marijuana, digital scales, several rolled joints, freezer bags, and a semi-automatic pistol magazine.

Lea says a large amount of cash and a handgun were also found.
