Ringgold City Clerk arrested on theft charges

RINGGOLD, GA (WRCB) -

GBI Agents arrested Tracy Alan Bass, 52, the Ringgold City Clerk of Court and charged him with theft by taking, computer forgery, tampering with evidence, and interference with government property.   

The investigation, which began in early December, came after allegations of missing court fees, and fine money within Ringgold’s City Clerk of Court’s Office. The Catoosa County District Attorney’s Office and the Ringgold Police Department requested the investigation.

The criminal investigation was initiated on December 3, 2015, by the GBI’s Calhoun Regional Office at the request of the Catoosa County District Attorney’s Office and the Ringgold Police Department.  The investigation originated as a result of allegations of missing court fees, and fine money within Ringgold’s City Clerk of Court’s Office.  

Bass was arrested, booked into the Catoosa County Jail and released on bond. 

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
