Autopsy: Highland Ave. murder victim shot a dozen times

An autopsy report shows the mother killed in a drive by shooting last month was shot multiple times.

Monica McMillon died on November 24, when a suspect fired into her Highland Avenue home.

According to an autopsy report, released by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office, McMillon was shot an estimated 12 times. Her death was ruled a homicide, caused by gunshot wounds.

Police responded to the scene and found McMillon in the home on the kitchen floor. Her three children were in the house at the time of the shooting. Police are still looking for suspects in the case.

Funeral arrangements are set for Noon on Saturday at Olivet Baptist Church.

McMillon’s family will receive friends today from 6-8pm at Taylor Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memory Gardens.

McMillon was a 1998 graduate of Brainerd High School and attended Chattanooga State. She was a member of Girls Inc. and was employed by Pilgrim Pride.
