PREVIOUS STORY: A teenager was hit by a vehicle in Dalton while trying to get to a Christmas parade Thursday, and is said to be in critical condition.

Bibian Santana, 15, was hit by a SUV on Thornton Avenue near Waugh Street around 5:30 p.m.

Police say the 15-year-old JROTC student of Dalton High was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by an SUV and then again by a second vehicle.

She was taken to Hamilton Medical Center for a broken femur and broken ankle, before being airlifted to Erlanger as a precaution.

Dalton police say the investigation is ongoing. DPD spokesman Bruce Frazier tells Channel 3 that no charges are anticipated for the drivers.
