CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Emergency crews are responding to reports of a downed military aircraft near the Cumberland River.
According to Montgomery County EMA Director Jerry Buchanan, the Apache helicopter based out of Fort Campbell went down near the intersection of Gholson Road and Hickory Point Road.
Fort Campbell officials said the crash happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday during a routine training mission.
Officials could not confirm any injuries or fatalities at this time.
Buchanan asked everyone to stay away from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.

A man is in jail following a police chase that began in Dade County, Georgia and ended in Marion County, Tennessee.
Around 4:30 am, police were notified that two people had arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
The vehicle took out a power line, before overturning in a wooded area, causing one lane to close.
