UPDATE: Woman shot in face while driving has been identified, in critical condition

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: The woman that was shot in the face while driving and seriously hurt on Saturday night has been identified. 

Entwadina Phillips, 20, suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the face. Phillips, was found near the 2500 block of O'Rear Street.

Chattanooga police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.


PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that seriously inured a woman, Saturday night.

Officers responded to reports of a person being shot around 9 p.m. Police found a female victim near the 2500 block of O'Rear street suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the face.

Officials say the female victim was driving, when her vehicle was struck by gunfire. The woman lost control and crashed on O'Rear Street with a juvenile in the car. Investigators say the juvenile was uninjured but still taken to a local hospital for observation only.

The female victim was taken to a local hospital for a life-threatening gunshot wound, she is currently listed in critical condition. No suspect information is available at this time. The victim's identity has not yet been released pending the notification of her family.
