A driver is safe Monday night, after her car was hit by a train.

It happened shortly before 8 p.m. on the railroad crossing at Bill Jones Road and Apison Pike.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesman Matt Lea says a woman's car got stuck on the tracks after she accidentally ran off the road.

She was helped out of the Ford Crown Victoria by another woman passing by.

No one was injured.

Lea says EMS and deputies alerted the Railroad of the incident, but the message was not relayed to the train in time.

The train was only carrying coal.

Lea says the track line in that area will be closed while officers clean up debris.
