After a yearlong break, blades are back on the ice.

“I think we will have to make this a habit for the season, a lot of fun,” said Lisa Broyles.

There is more ice to have fun on this year. In 2014, the rink fit 125 skaters. Now, there is room for 200.

“It was 50 x 70 I think. This year it's 60 x 100,” said Bill Matthews, assistant manager, Ice on the Landing.

And that's not the only change; beginners can now take skating lessons.

“Four-week session, basic skills, learn forward stroking. Maybe some backward stroking, maybe a couple of little jumps,” said Matthews.

Classes are $120 for four sessions.
